Local Charity Work

In recent years we have tried to give something back to the local community, by sponsoring booklets by charities such as Child Protection UK, which helps to raise awareness and educate school children about the effects of drugs and alcohol at local community colleges, and by giving talks and careers advice.

Drug and alcohol awareness initiatives

Child Protection UK was formed in 2004 by professional people who had experienced the tragedy of drug and/or alcohol abuse within their families. The organisation is committed to raising awareness of the devastating consequences that alcohol and drugs can have, not just on the user, but also on their children, families and the local community.

We are proud to sponsor this project and have helped to ensure that the information booklets that Child Protection UK produces are being seen by children and teenagers in local schools around the West Country.

School and college lectures

We also offer careers advice to teenagers, helping them to make clearer and more informed decisions about their futures when they leave school.

For the past few years, we have taken part in Teignmouth Community College's Industry Careers Day, during which key staff from influential local businesses in a range of sectors give talks, lectures and general advice to students to help them to form a clearer idea about what awaits them in the working world and to decide on a career path that suits them.

Netrank staff have given talks to students at both Teignmouth and Okehampton College, and taken classes and Q&A sessions with the students of the colleges' IT departments, helping to pass on some of their technical knowledge and offering them advice about the working world.
